GAIN in the US explained in its Pilot/Controller Collaboration Initiatives report that "pilots and air traffic controllers talk to each other all day long, but they rarely communicate." The starting point for the study was the question of whether differences in flight safety perceptions and culture between pilots and air traffic controllers, or other factors, could lead to mutual misunderstandings of procedures and instructions. Digest with The many processes that must be solved within tight deadlines increase the likelihood of accidents through cascading risk factors such as James Reason's Swiss Cheese Theory. Despite the fact that the pilot-air traffic controller complex, which is the subject of flight, occupies a considerable part, there is no integrated management for safe operation between the two groups. Therefore, this research aims to achieve integrated management of safety and education for safe operation between pilots and air traffic controllers through JCRM.

A main purpose of this research was to analyze environmental factors to influence helicopter accidents contrary to the fact that the almost 80% of helicopter accidents happened due to pilots’ human errors. There have been about 14 helicopter accidents in civil aviation sector last decade. It is noteworthy that nine of 14 accidents happened during the external sling load operation. Moreover, there is no law or regulation which could cover the helicopter external sling load operation or human external cargo in Korea. In this paper, it was analyzed the training and education regulations regarding helicopter external sling load operation or human external cargo in regulations of FAA and EASA, Based on analyzing and comparing the FAR part 133 and domestic aviation law (aviation safety act and flight safety regulations), it was found out the implication how to apply helicopter type rating for external sling load operation and human external cargo operation. To sum up, this paper expect central government should cooperate and amend aviation law which apply external sling load operation and external cargo to establish sound safety culture in Korea.

Based on the government's willingness to commercialize UAM with the goal of 2025, it is making remarkable achievements in various fields, including the development of UAM. In addition, based on the concept of UAM, it is evolving into an Advanced Air Mobility(AAM) concept that includes commercial operation between long-distance or short-range cities, cargo delivery, public services, aviation tourism, and personal/leisure aircraft. however, research on physical problems such as low-altitude operation characteristics, speed within three dimensions, and dizziness caused by external environment has yet to be found. Therefore, in this study, actual images are taken while flying at the expected altitude and speed of UAM using a helicopter, and by experiencing it to the general public using a UAM simulator equipped with VR and Motion, physical reactions such as fear and dizziness of passengers that may occur during actual UAM operation of UAM are analyzed.

Based on the K-UAM roadmap, this study was conducted to select major education and training subjects necessary for the composition of the initial UAM pilot education and training curriculum. Currently, UAM aircraft have similar characteristics to rotorcraft that can take off and land vertically around VTOL functions. Therefore, in this study, the Rotary Wing Pilot Training Curriculum of the Army Aviation School, which represents Rotary Wing Flight Education, was selected as a comparative group, and education and training subjects for initial UAM pilot training were selected. First, a hierarchical structure for the AHP survey was designed based on the Army's rotorcraft pilot education and training subjects, and the AHP survey was conducted by selecting experts from each class. If the education and training subjects given as priorities through AHP analysis are applied to initial UAM pilot training, it is expected to contribute to the effect of education and training and ultimately to the safe operation of UAM.

The Fix-to-Fix Navigation is the technique for aircraft pilots to find out estimated Heading when crossing from present fix to other fix to want to go in the air. Because this is based on the Rule of Thumb method from one’s experience, it could not find out exact estimated Heading. Furthermore if the pilot nears going fix, Bearing Pointer and Course Indicator of HSI are too close to use this technique, that makes the pilot lost in the air. In this paper, We take Limits of Trigonometric Functions into the Fix-to-Fix Navigation to overcome these disadvantages. This study introduces two solutions using Limits of Trigonometric Functions when doing Fix-to-Fix Navigation and analyzes the error of this solutions.

This paper proposes a design of a wideband array antenna involving the downlink bands of fixed satellite service (FSS) and broadcasting satellite service (BSS) by applying two mixed patch sets. The proposed antenna is implemented on FR4 substrate by arranging rectangular patches in 6 by 2. To design a wideband antenna (10.7~12.75 GHz) covering both FSS downlink bands (10.7~10.95 GHz, 11.2~11.45 GHz) and BSS downlink bands (11.7~12.5 GHz, 12.2~12.75 GHz, 11.7~12.2 GHz), rectangular patches working at 11.5 GHz and 12.5 GHz are arranged alternately, and thus the proposed antenna can obtain a wide bandwidth equivalent to 30.8% of the center frequency. The proposed antenna was fabricated and measured, and the results are well matched with the simulated ones. From the performances, the proposed antenna can be applied to the receiving antenna for FSS and BSS downlinks.

In the case of fixed CCTV, there is a problem in that a shadow area occurs, even if the visible range is maximized by utilizing the pan-tilt and zoom functions. The representative solution for that problem is that a plurality of fixed CCTVs are used. This requires a large amount of additional equipment (e.g., wires, facilities, monitors, etc.) proportional to the number of the CCTVs. Another solution is to use drones that are equipped with cameras and fly. However, Drone’s operation time is much short. In order to extend the time, we can use multiple drones and can fly one by one. In this case, drones that need to recharge their batteries re-enter into a ready state at the drone port for next operation. In this paper, we propose a system for precised positioning and stable landing on the drone port by utilizing a small drone equipped with a fixed forward-facing monocular camera. For our conclusion, we implement our proposed system, operate, and finally verify our feasibility.

UPRT(Upset Prevention And Recovery Training) is an accident prevention training program developed over a three-year period after the main cause of aircraft accidents in commercial aviation between 2001 and 2011 was analyzed as LOC-I(Loss Of Control Flight). In 2014, ICAO presented UPRT for fixed-wing aircraft through Doc.10011(Manual On Aeroplane Upset Prevention And Recovery Training) and recommended mandatory implementation to Contracting States from March 2019. Since naval P-3C is a major mission of maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare, it takes a lot of time to fly at low altitude (70-600 m), and the majority of P-3C pilots have experienced spatial disorientation, so Upset prevention and recovery training is essential for naval P-3C pilots. To this end, this study intends to present measures for UPRT from limited conditions using the P-3C simulator owned by the Navy.

Realistic and graphics-based virtual reality content is based on 360-degree videos, and viewport extraction through the viewer's intention or automatic recommendation function is essential. This paper designs a viewport extraction system based on multiple object tracking in 360-degree videos and proposes a parallel computing structure necessary for multiple viewport extraction. The viewport extraction process in 360-degree videos is parallelized by composing pixel-wise threads, through 3D spherical surface coordinate transformation from ERP coordinates and 2D coordinate transformation of 3D spherical surface coordinates within the viewport. The proposed structure evaluated the computation time for up to 30 viewport extraction processes in aerial 360-degree video sequences and confirmed up to 5240 times acceleration compared to the CPU-based computation time proportional to the number of viewports. When using high-speed I/O or memory buffers that can reduce ERP frame I/O time, viewport extraction time can be further accelerated by 7.82 times. The proposed parallelized viewport extraction structure can be applied to simultaneous multi-access services for 360-degree videos or virtual reality contents and video summarization services for individual users.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles is rapidly increasing in order to effectively utilize limited manpower and minimize casualties on the battlefield. The requirements for ground control equipment vary depending on the operating concept and environment of the unmanned aerial system, but there are still common requirements. However, the lack of standardized system configurations to meet these common requirements makes it difficult to reuse common functions, leading to continuous acquisition costs. To solve this problem, this paper develops a Korean version of the UCS model using the UCS architecture. Furthermore, after designing elements related to service development not specified in the architecture (such as framework, communication middleware, service structure, etc.), we develop a Boilerplate to enhance developers' work efficiency based on this. The results of this study will serve as a foundation for effectively and economically carrying out the development of ground control equipment for unmanned aerial systems.
