Vertigo refers to a state in which awareness related to the location, posture, movement, etc. of a helicopter is insufficient in space. It is easy to fall into flight illusion when flying in dense fog or night flight, and even if it has a wide field of view, it can be caused by visual causes such as cloud shapes, wind conditions, conditions of ground objects, and sensory causes such as changes in air posture or gravitational acceleration. The design and program of the motion system are studied that applied a six-axis motion system to a conventional commercial flight simulator program for pilot training, depending on the specificity of helicopter flight training that requires perception and sensitivity. Using the motion-based helicopter simulator produced in this study to train pilots, it is expected to have a positive effect in prevent of vertigo, where high performance could not be confirmed in the previously used visual-based simulation training device.

This study is a pilot operation roadmap for the introduction of the co-pilot qualification (MPL) system, and the introduction of the MPL system in Korea is a new pilot education and qualification system based on competency. Therefore, it may be difficult to prepare for various matters such as securing initial regulations, securing training businesses or trainees, and establishing training infrastructure, so the roadmap necessary for pilot operation is very important for the successful introduction of the MPL system. In order to secure a training program and qualification system with proven MPL systems in the domestic aviation market, the government and aviation industry members will jointly participate to highlight the importance of a pilot operation roadmap for the domestic flight environment.

The P-3C maritime patrol aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Navy is equipped with various sensor devices (LRUs, line replace units) for tactical data collection. Depending on the characteristics of the sensor device, it operates with various communication protocols such as IEEE 802.3, MIL-STD-1553A/B, and ARINC-429. In addition, the collected tactical data is processed in the tactical station for mission operators, and this tactical station constitutes a clustering network on Gigabit Ethernet and operates in a distributed processing method. For communication with the sensor device, a specific tactical station mounts a peripheral device (eg. ARINC-429 interface card). The problem is that the performance of the entire distributed processing according to the peripheral device control and communication relay of this specific device is degraded, and even the operation stop of the tactical station has a problem of disconnecting the communication with the related sensor device. In this paper, we propose a method to mount a separate gateway to solve this problem, and the validity of the proposed application is demonstrated through the operation result of this gateway.

Aircraft carriers need to maintain an orderly flow of aircraft in order for military ships to conduct combat through aircraft. Maintaining aircraft flow is an important factor in strengthening ship and aviation safety. In order to maintain aircraft flow, it is essential to develop a state-of-the-art air control system that provides higher quality control information by simultaneously accommodating radar-based monitoring information and monitoring information based on CNS integrated technology. Based on this point, this study describes the function and operation method of specific control equipment for the operation of the Aviation Support System and Air Traffic Control System required to operate light aircraft carriers in Korea based on overseas cases.

Depth estimation is a key technology in 3D map generation for autonomous driving of vehicles, robots, and drones. The existing sensor-based method has high accuracy but is expensive and has low resolution, while the camera-based method is more affordable with higher resolution. In this study, we propose self-attention-based unsupervised monocular depth estimation for UAV camera system. Self-Attention operation is applied to the network to improve the global feature extraction performance. In addition, we reduce the weight size of the self-attention operation for a low computational amount. The estimated depth and camera pose are transformed into point cloud. The point cloud is mapped into 3D map using the occupancy grid of Octree structure. The proposed network is evaluated using synthesized images and depth sequences from the Mid-Air dataset. Our network demonstrates a 7.69% reduction in error compared to prior studies.

Recently, following the development of LIDAR technology which can detect distance from the object, the interest for LIDAR based 3D object detection network is getting higher. Previous networks generate inaccurate localization results due to spatial information loss during voxelization and downsampling. In this study, we propose an attention-based convergence method and a camera-LIDAR convergence system to acquire high-level features and high positional accuracy. First, by introducing the attention method into the Voxel-RCNN structure, which is a grid-based 3D object detection network, the multi-scale sparse 3D convolution feature is effectively fused to improve the performance of 3D object detection. Additionally, we propose the late-fusion mechanism for fusing outcomes in 3D object detection network and 2D object detection network to delete false positive. Comparative experiments with existing algorithms are performed using the KITTI data set, which is widely used in the field of autonomous driving. The proposed method showed performance improvement in both 2D object detection on BEV and 3D object detection. In particular, the precision was improved by about 0.54% for the car moderate class compared to Voxel-RCNN.

High Efficiency Power Amplifier applied to 5G Systems

This paper presents the design method and electrical characteristics of a high-efficiency power amplifier for a 50 Watts class repeater applied to a 5G system and used in in-building, subway, and tunnel. GaN was used for the termination transistor of the power amplifier designed here, and intermodulation signals were removed using DPD to satisfy linearity. In addition, in order to handle various requirements such as amplifier gain control and alarm processing required in the 5G system, the microprocessor is designed to exist inside the power amplifier. The amplifier manufactured to confirm the electrical performance of the power amplifier satisfying these conditions satisfied 46.5 dBm and the overall efficiency of the amplifier was 37%, and it was confirmed that it satisfied various alarm conditions and electrical characteristics required by telecommunication companies.

In this study, we propose a method to improve the precision of contact resistance measurement circuits using constant current method and voltage drop method, and implement a dashboard that monitors the measured data of contact resistance measurement systems through MQTT broker server. The contact resistance measurement system measures the resistance value and transmits the measured value to the MQTT broker server using wireless communications. This developed dashboard uses Node-RED and Node-RED-Dashboard to receive the resistance values of up to four contact resistance measurement systems and show them to user’s monitor screen. Users can manage multiple measurement data using a single dashboard and easily interface with other devices through the MQTT broker server. Through the experimental results from real data measurements, the relative standard deviation about precision is improved to average 40.37% and maximum 64.73% respectively.

Currently, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands are used as frequencies for drone operation. In December 2019, the Ministry of Science and ICT newly allocated the 433 MHz band for the invisible long-distance operation of drones. However, since the 433 MHz band is the same as the previously allocated frequency band for amateur radio communication, interference cannot be avoided. Therefore, as a prerequisite for the development of a drone operation system based on the 433 MHz band, interference avoidance technology for this frequency band must be developed and applied. In this paper, we report the results of measurement and analysis of 433 MHz band signals necessary for the development of interference avoidance and reduction technologies for 433 MHz signals. The measurement and analysis of the 433 MHz band signal are performed through the spectrum measured at 5-minute intervals at three locations. Since the measurements and analyzes performed in this study considered spatial characteristics, temporal characteristics, and traffic characteristics, it is considered to be the basic data necessary for the development of interference avoidance technology in the 433 MHz band.

Because there exist a region in the rotational speed and torque map that the a particular combination of a motor and an ESC (Electronic Speed Control) can maintain its peak efficiency, identifying this region is important for designing an efficient system. Firstly the accuracy of the measurement device is verified using the published propeller measurement data. And then, the combined motor-ESC efficiencies of an individual propeller are measured at a wide range of rotational speeds. With measurements obtained from a large number of different propellers, efficiency contours are obtained. It is shown that there exist a significant difference between the measured combined efficiency and the motor efficiency computed using a simple model. In addition, with the same motor, the combined efficiency can have a meaningful variation depending on the model of the ESC. The efficiency contours derived from this study will be useful for the design and optimization of electric propulsion systems of an aircraft where propulsion efficiency is critical.

In this paper, by using a multi-PLUTO SDR platform, we implement a beamforming wireless power transmission test bed capable of beam alignment for the receiving end by calculating the location information of the target device (power receiving platform) in a situation where power transmitting and receiving platforms do not know each other's location information. Experiments were conducted in a laboratory environment based on the built test bed, and the experimental results were compared with the simulation results to confirm both whether the testbed was effectively configured and the performance effectiveness of the test bed.

As the increasing demand for high-quality software, there is huge requiring for quality certification of international standards, industrial functional safety (IEC 61508), automotive (ISO 26262), embedded software guidelines for weapon systems, etc., in the industry. Software companies are very difficult to systematically acquire the quality certification in terms of cost and manpower of Startup, venture small-sized companies. For their companies one test case automatic generation is considered as a core technique to evaluate or improve software quality. This paper proposes a test case automatic generation method based on the design decision table for system and software design verification. We apply the proposed method with OMG’s standard techniques of metamodel and model transformation for automatically generating test cases. To do this, we design the metamodels of design decision table (Model) and test case document (Text) and define model transformation to automatically generate test cases, which will expect to easily work MC/DC coverage.

In the rapid technological development of artificial intelligence (AI), electric vehicles, and robots based the fourth industrial revolution, semiconductors determine the core performance, and semiconductor competitiveness is directly related to national competitiveness. However, the Korean semiconductor industry has continuously weakened its competitiveness in the system semiconductor field, excluding memory semiconductors, so in this study, a new smart contract basedblockchain business model to engage the global market, which is the most urgent need for the growth of Korean fabless system semiconductor industry in recession. F-SBM (Fabless-Smart contract based Blockchain Model) proposed. In this study, through the new F-SBM, it was verified how to engage new customers for fabless firms through smart contract based consortium blockchain regarding technology, economy, and reliability items of fabless. This model has great significance in improving the high entry barriers to engaging new customers for the long-cherished desire of the Korean fabless system semiconductor industry and deriving new growth solutions.
