The passenger who use airport spend a lot of time in check-in. They are also delayed in their readiness for departure. Therefore, for decrease in time that is waiting time for handling luggage, recently many airports are expanding self-service. Also internal development and manufacturing for production automation system and IT technology are world-class. So, for localization of self bag drop (SBD) system, I think that application this system in domestic technique and constructing competitive in customer reception system will be efficient airport management. To this end, for looking for optimal conditions when passengers use SBD, this thesis include development simulation of relevance to system. Also this thesis secures information for passenger`s in foreign country airport and simulate this data. Finally, that analysis the best management passenger system when the passenger use SDB.

This paper proposes a case study of applying to DO-278A, which is a software development standard of ground aviation equipment in communication, navigation, surveillance/air traffic management (CNS/ATM) domain, in order to develop software of Advanced surface movement, guidance and control system (A-SMGCS). It explains considerations to application of DO-278A standard, discusses how to tailor processes or requirements specified in DO-278A in detail, and explain tailored results. And it also summary problems or issues occurred during application of DO-278A, which can be appeared when DO-278A is applied to for the first time by any development part. These are required considerations in order to reduce trial and error. To the conclusion, it explains lessons learned from application of DO-278A and suggest how to solve these problems or issues.

This paper analyzed flight trajectory characteristics of ballistic missiles considering effects of drag forces. It is difficult to intercept ballistic missiles which fly over atmosphere with supersonic speeds and small radar cross section (RCS). In particular, the velocities in the phases of boost and terminal are changed significantly due to the steep variation of the drag force. Therefore, in order to build up a successful ballistic missile defense systems, the effects of the drag forces should be considered in the analysis of ballistic missile trajectory characteristics. In this point of view, this work analyzed the effects of drag forces and derived the flight trajectory characteristics of Scud B, C and Nodong missiles. Model of the ballistic missile flight trajectory is considered the effects of Coriolis and centrifugal forces, and specifications of the missiles are open sources.

Stable and reliable air traffic service is required for users (aircraft pilot, air traffic controller, airlines and public) through enhancing capability related to airport operation and continuously improving air navigation system. ASMS (air navigation service provider (ANSP) safety maturity survey) is to determine the level of management and safety requirement such as organization, risk, policy, process, training and environment in Air traffic service field. We designed and developed the survey (26 study areas of management part and 23 study areas of safety part) considering global best practices (Eurocontrol and FAA) and customizing domestic circumstances with quantitative level assessment regarding management and safety issue of Air navigation system. The survey enables the performance of Air navigation system to enhance and prevents from occurring accident or incident. Therefore, we provides best information with users as well as high quality Air traffic service.

Safety assessment is necessary to develop safety related CNS/ATM system. It includes functional hazard assessment (FHA), effects eliciting system safety requirement that mitigates system`s hazardous event. This paper performs a case study for functional hazard assessment of A-SMGCS. To do this, related A-SMGCS studies from Eurocontrol and EMMA are surveyed, and assessment schemes of functional hazard from Eurocontrol and EMMA are combined. Not only FHA scope but also several assumptions for FHA are defined for Incheon airport. 29 hazards are identified and their severities are assessed. And exposures and safety objectives from hazards are analyzed using event tree analysis method. Differences between result of this study and result of EMMA are analysed, and assessment results in this study are also reviewed.

Recently, underwater acoustic communication (UWAC) has been studied by many scholars and researchers. In order to use UWAC, we need to estimate time difference between the two signals in underwater environment. Typically, there are major three methods to estimate the time-difference between the two signals such as estimating the arrival time of the first non-background segment and calculate the temporal difference, calculating the cross-correlation between the two signal to infer the time-lagged, and estimating the phase delay to infer the time difference. In this paper, we present calculating the cross-correlation between the two signals to infer the time-lagged to apply UWAC. We also present the experimental result of estimating the arrival time by using cross-correlation. We get EXCORR = 0.003055 second as the estimation error in mean absolute difference.

In high capacity and long haul optical communication systems, signal distortion is induced by chromatic dispersion and nonlinear effects of optical fibers. Dispersion management (DM) combining with mid-spans spectral inversion (MSSI) is one of the various techniques for overcoming this drawback. The most simple configuration of DM link is obtained by uniformly distributing the lengths of single mode fiber (SMF) and residual dispersion per span (RDPS) over whole fiber spans consisted of optical link. In this paper, the system performances in the uniformly distributed DM link combined with MSSI are assessed as a function of the number of fiber spans, because the system performances in this configuration are used as the significant performance criterion in other link configurations, such as the artificial distribution or the random distribution of SMF lengths and RDPS.
