Due to the rapid increase in air traffic worldwide, ICAO has replaced the existing navigation equipment with equipment based on satellite navigation. As a part of that work, ICAO was planning to replace conventional takeoff and landing service using ILS with GBAS. Unlike ILS, GBAS which uses precision approach service inducing aircraft to airport and satellite based augmentation system providing precise position information service surrounding airport is capable of providing a required performance by only a system, regardless of the number of systems, and has an advantage that it is possible curved approach. In this paper, fuel reduction of ILS approach procedures and GBAS curved approach procedures is estimated and determined by flight test in Taean Airport.

This paper proposes the development model of the aerodrome traffic control simulator (ATCS) System for the domestic airport. The application of the ATCS is used as a OJT training function for the air traffic controller and research function for a new control procedure. In order to perform those functions, we classified the ATCS in three types such as education, research and integrated management system, and the ATCS types analysed by the working and OJT training condition in domestic airport. Therefore, we proposed the ATCS models such as uniform type, differential type, and center type, and analysed the merits and demerits of the proposed models. Also we looked up ATCS``s application in terms of the building and maintenance costs, operational utilization and scalability. So, we proposed the differential type which was suitable for the developing ATCS for the domestic airports.

Advanced surface movement guidance and control system (A-SMGCS) is a system providing routing, guidance and surveillance for the control of aircraft and vehicles in order to maintain the predetermined surface movement rate under all weather conditions while maintaining the required level of safety. In the present study, system engineering was introduced to develop the compliance procedure for the A-SMGCS. At first, requirements for the level IV A-SMGCS were defined and analyzed from the concept of operations (CONOPS). Then, system architecture and specifications were constructed through the functional analysis and allocation. After that, work breakdown structure (WBS) and related integrated master schedule (IMS) were established. Lastly, compliance checklist (CCL) and test and evaluation master plan (TEMP) were developed to verify and validate the system.

In this paper, we propose a differential fault analysis on SSB having same structure in encryption and decryption proposed in 2011. The target algorithm was designed using advanced encryption standard and has advantage about hardware implementations. The differential fault analysis is one of side channel attacks, combination of the fault injection attacks with the differential cryptanalysis. Because SSB is suitable for hardware, it must be secure for the differential fault analysis. However, using proposed differential fault attack in this paper, we can recover the 128 bit secret key of SSB through only one random byte fault injection and an exhausted search of 28. This is the first cryptanalytic result on SSB having same structure in encryption and decryption.

We consider the problems that consist of designing time, establishment cost, delay time and reliability in designing a mesh network when given link costs and traffic requirements between nodes. Designing time, establishment cost and delay time are less, reliability is higher in designing a mesh network. One of the problems designing time is solved by mesh network topology optimization and routing (MENTOR) algorithm that Aaron Kershenbaum propose, but the others remain. In this paper we propose a new mesh network design algorithm with small computational complexity that the others are solved. The result of the proposed algorithm is better than MENTOR``s in total establishment cost, delay time and reliability.

In the present study, compact 0th order resonant antenna for 2.4 GHz ISM frequency band is newly proposed. In case of wireless communication systems such as wi-fi, bluetooth and Zigbee, antennas with omni-directional radiation pattern are necessary because of the demands for uniformly received electric field strength without variation for direction. It is well-known that 0th order resonant antennas are not only advantageous for miniaturization but also have advantage of maintaining omni-directional radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is composed of two-element array in which the size of unit element should be smaller than λ/4 correspondent to the resonant length of typical monopole antennas The proposed antenna which is placed at middle and upper side of PCB with 50×50 mm2 size is designed and fabricated within limited space of 8×5 mm2. The measured impedance bandwidth (S11 ≤ -10 dB) is about 100 MHz (2.4~2.5 GHz) which corresponds to quite wide bandwidth in comparison with the antenna size, and also the measured peak gain over the passband is more than 3 dBi which is thought to be slightly wider than the other 0th order resonant antenna.

In this paper, an architecture of a perpetual smart video device and its energy control model for the internet of things (IoT) are proposed. The smart video device consists of a processor, an image sensor, a video codec, and a network controller. In the proposed energy control model, energy consumed by image sensing, video encoding, and transmission and energy harvested by solar panels are defined as an input and an output of a battery, an energy buffer. Frame rate, quantization parameter, and operating frequency of processor are defined as the energy control parameters, and these parameters control the input and the output energy of the energy buffer, finally control the energy left in the battery. The proposed energy control model is validated by the energy consumption measurement of the smart phone based platform for various combinations of energy control parameters, and can be used for the design of perpetual smart video device.

In this paper, a novel Internet-of-things (IoT) based telecare system is proposed to provide high-quality care services to silver generations. It consists of various sensor nodes including activity sensors, wearable emergency pagers, emergency telephone as a home gateway, and a server as a telecare service platform. Especially, an activity index as a qualification method is presented to analyze the activities of daily living. By using the activity index, the daily/weekly/monthly activity information can be obtained, from which we infer the activity pattern, notice the abrupt change of the activity, and take appropriate actions in abnormal situations.
